Olivia Beach

Plan the perfect romantic Valentine’s weekend getaway to Olivia Beach

The seaside community of Olivia Beach in Lincoln City, Oregon exudes charm, and offers something for everyone – exceptional on-property amenities, breathtaking ocean views, easy access to stunning Nelscott Beach, and is a prime location for exploring the coast.

Ready to plan a Valentine’s getaway for that someone special? A stay in a Meredith Lodging Oliva Beach vacation rental is the perfect start to a Valentine’s getaway you will always remember. Once you have arrived, here are a few suggestions to help you plan a romantic and memorable stay:

Hit the Drive-Through at The Human Bean to Serve them Coffee (and Maybe Breakfast) in Bed

Let your loved one sleep in, as you sneak off to get coffee. Head through the drive-through at The Human Bean, where you can pick up your sweetheart his or her favorite coffee drink to go. Enjoy together back on the front porch at your cozy Olivia Beach vacation rental, or head to Nelscott Beach to feel the sand on your toes, and breathe in that fresh, salty ocean air.

Brunch at Nelscott Café

Prefer a leisurely, heartier, more brunch-like start to your day? Make your way to Nelscott Café for brunch. Order a freshly baked cinnamon roll to share, and enjoy classic breakfast dishes, or daily specials like crab cake benedict.

Surprise Them with a Spa Day

Give the gift of relaxation and rejuvenation. After breakfast, surprise your Valentine with a spa day. Locals love Rejuvenation Massage and Spa. Choose from their many restorative services including massage, acupuncture, energy work, and naturopathic medicine.

Vist The Chocolate Frog

Treat your favorite sweet tooth. If you didn’t book a couple’s spa day, take advantage of this time to head to The Chocolate Frog to pick up something sweet for your sweetheart. They have a wide selection of handmade truffles, chocolate covered sea foam, chocolate peanut butter cups, and high-end European chocolate.

Stroll Olivia Beach at Sunset

Make time for sunset! If you did not make it down to the beach in the morning, we recommend taking a sunset stroll. Marvel at the views as you watch the sunset over the Pacific Ocean with your loved one. Once you return to your Meredith Lodging Olivia Beach vacation rental you can enjoy a dip in the hot tub under a sky full of stars.

Cook Your Own Romantic Dinner with Your Vacation Rentals’ Fully-Stocked Kitchen

Give the gift of a home-cooked meal, or the gift of reservations. Cook a romantic dinner for two in your fully equipped kitchen at your Oliva Beach rental, or make a reservation at Side Door Café, one of Lincoln City’s most romantic restaurants. This family-run restaurant offers grass-fed beef, locally trolled fish, and farm fresh organic produce in a charming and unique setting. Reservations are encouraged.

10 REASONS TO VISIT THE OREGON COAST IN FEBRUARY

Devil’s Punch Bowl Oregon Coast

As winter comes to a … no that’s not true, winter is still here on the Oregon Coast, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything to do. During the month of February, the coast has plenty of activities to get yourself out of the rain or at least enjoy it! Take a look through some of our favorite things to do this month!

Devil’s Punch Bowl

Between Bella Beach and Newport, lays the Devils Punch Bowl. What once was a sea cave thousands of years ago, has been turned into an explorer’s paradise. People come from all over to witness this beautiful landmark. Interested in making a day out of it? Well, there are picnic tables at the Devil’s Punch Bowl State Park and tide pools north of the punch bowl, plus a beach which is perfect for surfing!

Jennifer Sears Glass Art Studio

Have you visited the coast and still haven’t found a float on the beach? Jennifer Sear’s Glass Art Studio is a perfect place to learn to make your own. Not only can you make floats but a local artisan will teach you how to make a fluted bowl, paperweight, or a votive candle holder. Adults and children are welcome to take a little break from the beach and make a souvenir that will last a lifetime!

Seafood and Wine Festival

Interested in tasting the local cuisine? On February 20th-23rd Newport will be hosting their annual Seafood and Wine Festival. For over 40 years, local wineries and restaurants get together and share the taste of the Oregon Coast. This 21 and older event is held right across the way from Rogue Brewery and provides a perfect weekend for guests that love crafts and good food.

Finders Keepers

There is so much to see and do on the Oregon Coast, but your vacation wouldn’t be complete until you find a glass float! Throughout the month of February, local glass blowers take their floats to the beach and play a little hide and seek. Not only will they be the standard glass floats, but during the weekend of Valentine’s Day, they will be placing heart-shaped floats on Lincoln Cities local beaches. If you can’t make it for Valentine’s Day, during Antique Week they will also be dropping 300 antique Japanese floats. Good luck!

Oregon Coast Aquarium

The kids showing signs of restlessness? Well take a trip down to Newport and enjoy a day at the Oregon Coast Aquarium. From otter feedings to behind the scene tours, there is a little something for every animal lover. The aquarium is open from 10 am to 5:00 pm daily and offers a great escape from the Oregon rainy weather!

Art Galleries

Throughout Lincoln City, there are many galleries to explore. From paintings to pottery, the Oregon Coast is a perfect getaway for art enthusiasts. The Ryan Gallery, Mossy Creek Pottery, and Freed gallery are some of our favorites, along with numerous others. Each one has a different way of showing their love for the Oregon Coast!

Tillamook Cheese Factory

Ever wonder how Tillamook Cheese or Tillamook Ice Cream is made? Well look no further, about 45 minutes outside of Lincoln City is the home where anything Tillamook is made. Enjoy a self-guided tour through the factory and witness the cheese making process. Afterward, taste test the many kinds of cheeses they offer and jump in line to have some of the best ice cream ever made.

Beach Combing Clinic

Interested in how the local rock shops find the best agates and shells? Take a lesson from the professionals and join the Beachcombing Clinic. On the 8th, 16th and the 24th of February. Nelscott’s own Laura Joki, who owns the best rock shop in town, will be guiding participants along the beach and helping them find little treasures the ocean has to offer. Please head over to the website if you have any questions!

Yaquina Head Lighthouse

Not only is the Oregon Coast known for their beautiful ocean views but the local lighthouses are a sight of their own. Just about ten minutes from Bella Beach sits the Yaquina Head Lighthouse! Built in 1868 in Paris, the Yaquina Bay is a working lighthouse and an aid to navigation local fisherman out at sea. Yaquina Head Lighthouse was even featured in the movie The Ring in 2002! Take a day trip and explore the many things Yaquina Bay has to over!

Those are just some of our favorite things to do on the Oregon Coast in February, there is so much more to explore and enjoy! So get out of the rain and make your way to the Coast to enjoy the Oregon sunshine.

Best Reasons to Live That Resort Life at Olivia Beach This Fall

We love it when Fall starts to really take hold along the Oregon Coast.  The trees change color, the sunsets seem even more vibrant and the beaches and beach towns, while still popular, are a little less quiet, in a good way.  Many guests love booking a Fall stay at Olivia Beach and we have gathered what they tell us they love the most about visiting this seaside community this time of year.

Longer nights and cozy fireplaces.

There is no better way to say goodbye to the long days of Summer than by embracing the long nights of Fall and Winter.  Lean in to that change of weather and earlier evening time by embracing the chance to warm-up by the fire with a good book or a favorite movie.  Olivia Beach homes offer inviting fireplaces and plenty of cozy corners to enjoy.

All that Lincoln City has to offer, just outside your door.

Fall is a great time to enjoy Lincoln City, during a time of year that still offers lots of opportunities for fun, but is less crowded and easier to navigate.  Dine out at local favorite restaurants (we love Kyllo’s, Blackfish Cafe and La Roca in Lincoln City), stop by and see the pre-holiday offerings of local shops and boutiques or visit the Outlets at a time of year when it’s easier to find parking.  Have some littles in tow? Check out Olde Line Lanes, Prehistoric or Read’s Homemade Candystore – they will all be happy to see you!

Making time to watch storms – and whales!

Fall at Olivia Beach (with their dedicated beach access) is a great time to bring out your inner storm-watcher or whale watcher. Grab the binoculars and observe from the lookout gate to the beach, or brave the sometimes-rainy conditions for a gloriously stormy beach walk, Fall is so fun on the Oregon Coast! And if your adventure leaves you a bit on the wet and cold side, make sure you rent an Olivia Beach home that has a hot tub for you to warm up once you return home.

S’mores around the fire while the kiddos play on the playground.

We love the community firepot in the park at Olivia Beach and appreciate that there is pre-chopped wood for us to make a cozy campfire anytime we want to. Gather the kids for some time on the playground and the adults can sit around the fire and enjoy a glass of wine or a hot chocolate.  Make memories with the whole family by having a best s’more’s contest!

Make time to make memories around the table with the people you love.

One of the best things about staying in an Olivia Beach vacation rental is the chance to gather all of your favorite people in one place to savor all that Fall has to offer.  From special meals around the same table, to spending a few days finishing that 1000-piece puzzle, to stargazing from your private hot tub, you will have many opportunities to make memories at Olivia Beach!

Top Five Family Activities Right Outside Your Door at Olivia Beach Resort by Meredith Lodging

Families LOVE Olivia Beach! The moment we arrive, the charming Nantucket-Cottage-style architecture and inviting front porches make us feel like we have left our cares behind and arrived somewhere extra-special. Add in those beautifully landscaped streets and public spaces that are nearly empty of cars and traffic (thanks to cars parking behind the homes) and the close proximity (and dedicated entrance) to a beautiful stretch of the Oregon coast and you understand why Olivia Beach is a dream vacation destination anytime…and especially when you have kiddos in tow.

Our favorite part of renting a vacation home in Oliva Beach is that so many activities are right outside our door or in nearby walking distance. We’ve captured our favorite family-friendly outings and wanted to share them with you for your next #staywithmeredith at Olivia Beach!

5. Having a catch – or a frisbee tag – in the greenspace. The greenspace at Olivia Beach is like the kitchen in your house – the heart of the community. We love that families use this space every day to play and enjoy the sun when it is shining. It’s the first place our kids want to go upon arrival – and the perfect place to “get the wiggles out” for the whole family.

4. The PLAYGROUND! For the little ones (and their parents), nothing is better than an on-property playground that is easy to get to and requires no “packing up of the car”. We love that we can take a cup of coffee and join our early-risers for some swing and slide time every morning.

3. The Community Firepit – and s’mores for dessert everyday! We try to end as many fun-filled days as we can in this cozy corner of Olivia Beach. From the well-stocked stash of firewood that is ready to go to the expansive seating, to meeting other families who are visiting…we enjoy gathering the whole gang and heading down to the firepit for s’mores and good conversation.

2. Best Pool on the Oregon Coast??? We are pretty sure Olivia Beach has that all locked up. Our kids cannot wait to return to the seasonal pool at Olivia Beach each year (and we love the adjacent fitness center, too!). There is plenty of space for all of us to lounge poolside while they splash and play – and that calming sound of waves at the nearby beach really makes us feel like we are on vacation. Speaking of that….

1. THE BEACH! The stretch of coastline across the street from Olivia Beach is one of the most beautiful we have ever seen, and the dedicated access is so convenient. PRO TIP: one of our favorite places to watch the sunset in Oregon is the bench located about halfway down the beach access stairs…and we have caught many a life-changing sunset from that very spot. Once you get to the beach, there is sand and shoreline for miles and your family will never tire of the seemingly endless sandcastle-building, frisbee throwing, bird watching, tidepool exploring and family gathering opportunities along this gorgeous stretch of the Oregon Coast.
